Rockwills invite Malaysians to join its food collection drive

The current rising food prices is proving to be a challenge for many Malaysians. Not spared are the young, particularly those residing in welfare homes and orphanages.

Recognising this, Rockwills International Group (Rockwills), a local pioneer in Will writing and estate planning, is holding a Food Collection Drive for two homes — Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Ekliptik Klang and Persatuan Kebajikan OKU Hati Berganda, Selangor – from now till 31 August 2024. The two centres cater to children with development challenges.

Said Azhar Iskandar Hew, Group CEO of Rockwills: “The Food Collection Drive forms part of Rockwills’ community service programme that has been in place since 2008. While the recipients may differ from year to year, our focus has always been consistent – food and necessities for the vulnerable and marginalised.

Azhar revealed that much of the support for the Drive has come from Rockwills’ strong corps of estate planners. “We are most grateful that our teams of estate planners who have been most supportive. However, we want to encourage other like-minded and financially-able Malaysians to join us. Together we can do so much more.”

Caring Malaysians, particularly those in the Klang Valley, are encouraged to drop off basic but essential food items to Wisma Rockwills at Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur or Rockwills Main Office located at Plaza Armada, Petaling Jaya between 9.00am and 5.00pm from Mondays to Fridays.

Food items needed include Milo, milk powder, cooking oil, instant noodles, and rice. Canned foods are NOT encouraged. Non-food items in the form of Tiger Balm, VapoRub, toothpaste and detergent are also welcomed.
